A Queen headboard, richly upholstered in Rose Tarlow linen fabric, ‘Isolde/Monarch’; produced exclusively for Rose Tarlow (Melrose House) by Douglas Funkouser, Le Gracieux - where everything is made by hand, dyed, and printed in Southern California. What makes this fabric exceptional is the artistic medieval design and block printing techniques on natural fibers, flax, and hemp linen (sold exclusively to the trade). This fabric has an old Spanish, mission style appeal to it, very Santa Barbara-esque. Its casual, intentionally worn essence is nicely tailored with contrasting brown velvet piping. If you enjoy a story with great provenance, this headboard is for you!
Rose Tarlow is considered a living design legend, one of the most original, respected talents in the design industry today. Tarlow is an Interior Designer, with her own line of furniture and textiles (exclusive to the trade), her Melrose House showroom is based in Los Angeles, California. Known for mixing traditional, modern aesthetics with casual elements like reclaimed wood, French oak beams, plaster, and stone. She seamlessly blends antiques with minimalism, creating chic Californian interiors. Her A-List clients include David Geffen, Oprah, Barbara Walters, and others. Editor Marian McEvoy wrote in Veranda Magazine that Tarlow, Albert Hadley, Jacques Grange, Michael Taylor, Renzo Mongiardino, and John Stefanidis, were six interior designers who had an "enormous impact" on "the design world." As a Curator and Interior Designer, these are the timeless, design qualities I seek – knowing they will transcend time, always in style, never trendy. A treasured find for collectors and enthusiasts of unique and one-of-a-kind pieces.
