Made in France in the early 1800s, the simple yet inviting design evokes the sunlit squares of small Provincial villages, where the townsfolk would sit to read the newspaper or watch the world go by. The robust shape and angular lines of the frame have a bold, playful quality; the gentle curve of the backrest showcases a more graceful side. Large iron rivets add an early Industrial inflection, while the timeworn patina of the terracotta-colored wood accentuates the warm character of this delightful period piece. See less
