A pair of Chinese porcelain Fu bats and Shou characters vases, a pair of finely formed, four-sided, auspicious vases with … Read more A pair of Chinese porcelain Fu bats and Shou characters vases, a pair of finely formed, four-sided, auspicious vases with a chicken egg yellow glazed exterior, and a white glazed interior and deep inset base. The top of the lip is glazed in gold. An apple-green band accents the top of the neck with a band of gold and white fleur-de-lys below. The front and back of the neck are decorated with a column of three, polychrome Buddhist roses amid polychrome curling, leafy vines. The narrower sides of the neck support gold, anvil shaped handles amid polychrome,curling, leafy vines with a polychrome Buddhist rose below each handle. The front and back body of the vase are decorated with a Red Shou character, with finely drawn, violet and white, Fu Bats above and below amid ornate, polychrome, flowering, curving vines, which ornament continues on the small sides of the vase, with the addition of acanthus leaves, and also around the extended foot. A blue, four character, Qianlong, reign mark within double squares is glazed to each inset base. Circa Republic of China era. See less
