These beautiful wood painted heirlooms were traditionally used to store the powder for tilaka, a Hindu mark worn on the forehead and other parts of the body. The colored powder was made from sandalwood paste, ashes, kumkum, sindhoor, clay, or other substances. Each Tikka box is unique in original patina and painted finish and sizes may vary slightly.
