Bold and bright depiction of a San Francisco Victorian house by Virginia J Hughins (Virginia Brubaker DeWolf) (American, 1923-2004). The scene is composed of chunky, rectilinear forms, creating an animated or cell-shaded appearance, with a minimalist twist.
Unsigned, but was acquired with a collection of the artist's work.
Presented in a new grey mat with foamcore backing.

Hughins was an accomplished artist, many of her watercolors could be seen around Santa Clara, Santa Cruz County Watercolor Society shows. She was an avid freelance writer and illustrator for children's books. Lifetime member of Romance Writers Association and Pen Women's Association.
