A wonderful mid century modernist composition, painted in oil onto canvas.
Two figures with baskets on their heads are depicted through the use of broad and distinct brushstrokes. The artist has omitted realistic detailing, opting instead to focus on the forms, shape and colour of the figures and their surroundings. The palette is muted, with the use of darker blues and purple set against areas of white.
