A central grape leaf is shown with a vine border, along with purple bunches of grapes and the berries and blossoms of the strawberry plant. The bold color and glazing technique is distinctive to Alcock majolica pottery. The mottled turquoise blue, green and brown glazing to the verso is also a hallmark of Alcock.
