(The etchings are … Read more This pair of 18th century Louis XVI style French picture frames was produced in the 19th century. (The etchings are gratis.) The frames are matching with exception to the size and crests. The woman’s frame is smaller than the man’s frame. The ornamentation topping the woman’s frame includes a partial wreath of flowers, ribbon, laurel leaves to either side, a torch and a quiver of arrows. The crest on the man’s frame consists of a wreath of laurels embellished with ribbons. Each frame has classical molding motifs. The roses in each gilt-framed diamond are hand painted. The convex glass in each is new. The cartouches at the bottom are identical.

These enameled frames are in excellent original condition with wear consistent with age and use.
