At the top is written “Goya”, which refers to the important Spanish artist, one of the greatest Old Masters. In 1775 he was employed by the Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid to design a series of tapestries that were in production for fifteen years. Signed at the bottom by “A. Minguez”, who is believed to be one of Goya’s students painting "cartoons" as tapestry models for the expert weavers. This cartoon has been recently framed and backed to support the 18th century work of art. Be sure to view all the images for a closer look at the wonderful details. See less
