A beautiful pair of armchairs - model nr. Hf 11 - by the foremost Czech architect and designer of the Art Deco and Mid-century modern period, Jindrich Halabala.
The armchairs feature a slender, simplistic frame: one continuous arch serves as both armrests and feet, de seat is securely attached to the solid beech wood frame with only two hinges.
The chairs underwent complete, professional restoration.
The wooden frame has been hand polished and lacquered to a silky finish.
The seat has been reupholstered with a high-end, water repellent Jab designer fabric featuring oriental koi fishes and lotus flowers amongst navy blue water ripples. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
