This Edo era Woodblock print … Read more Powerful portrayal of a Japanese Kabuki actor by Utagawa Kunisada I (Toyokuni III) Japanese, 1786-1865. This Edo era Woodblock print is custom framed in a simple black frame, the Ukiyo-E print rests on a gold beige/sand coloured woven textile ackground, behind glass. This is a sizable piece.
Hand made washi paper with good color with delicate bokashi (graduated shading). Condition is fair - two minor holes which are often seen in older woodblocks. See last but one photograph for one of them.
Vertical oban H14", W9.5". Not inspected out of frame.
