80s ULTRA RARE, Vintage, Original Alexander Calder, Large Format ,Modern Exhibition Lithograph Poster Whitney Museum of Art, New York, 1980-1981.
NEVER REMOVED FROM ORIGINAL WRAPPER!!!
This enormous, pristine lithograph is entitled; "Concentrations" Big Red Mobile. It was published by the Whitney Museum of New York in 1981.
This artwork, has remained rolled, in the museum's original, tubular casing, since 1981.
I removed the casing, for the first time, to inspect the artwork for any issues, after almost half a decade of being stored. It's was perfect, colors vivid, uncreased!!!
The imagery is classic, minimalist Calder. It displays the very iconic, Big Red Mobile, part of the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum in NYC.
The image is very dramatic due to its large format and minimalist graphic design of the Big Red Mobile on a simple white background, framed in black.
All the information regarding the itinerary of this traveling exhibition, and the "provence" of dates, copyright, publishing, and rights are printed in a 80s modern white font against the black border.
Wording.on the artwork:

The poster is printed on heavier stock with a clear lacquer-like smooth finish. Almost like a protectant. It gives the work a low luster sheen that would not be noticeable once framed

This is an incredibly rare find, of an outstanding Calder exhibition lithograph., sealed and stored for close to half a century.
