This example, in vibrant blue, pink, white, and gold, is small in scale (4.75" square), but bold in design.
The technique employed incorporates fusing powdered glass to metal (in this case, copper) to create a beautiful work of enamel art. The decoration, a smattering of blue circles / white streaks varying in size, almost has a jewel-like appearance with rich luster / sheen. The simple form and small size are contrasted with the rich colors and nice texture that the pattern introduces. Features a sgraffito technique, in which lines are 'carved' through the enamel in places to reveal the base color, giving those 'treated' sections almost a 'tree bark' texture / aesthetic.
A beautiful piece of enamel that can be used for display purposes or as a soap / keys / jewelry dish.
Dish is in very nice, vintage condition with edge wear and loss (some 'wear' is actually fire marks from the kiln, original to the piece; some corner wear is from use / age) .
Signed 'Eve' to the underside.
