Chinese porcelain longevity guanyinzun, a gracefully formed vase with a white glazed exterior, interior and inset base. Finely painted, hand calligraphy of archaic and eccentric variations of Zhuanshu script, Shou characters in polychrome glazes decorate the vase. The longevity character "Shou" is repeated 196 times in seven bands encircling the vase. The rim is accented in a smooth, umber glaze and the neck has a band of alternating red diamonds and green triangles. The foot is banded with a black, cloud and thunder meander on a green ground. A finely drawn, green and black, Kangxi era, artemisia leaf symbol is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa late 19th century to early Republic of China era.
