Ferdinand Penker first studied medicine and art history in Graz. From 1977 to 1987 he taught as a professor at the University of California at Davis . With his work, he repeatedly asked himself questions of contemporary art , especially the questions of structure and order, form and space as well as line and color. His way of working was characterized by blocks of work within which he created individual, progressive series that differed only slightly. In the 1990s, he expanded this way of working the tends to minimalist, monochrome and radically decelerated painting in the room. His works are generally associated with the influence of constructive and concrete ideas as well as American color field painting and minimal art . Both the canvases and the paper works by Ferdinand Penker thematize the painting itself, the development process and the different possibilities of perception.
This is a fine opportunity to acquire an early etching by Ferdinand Penker.
