This artwork was realized on occasion of the exhibition Fautrier œuvres 1940 - 1964 dedicated to the artist and held at Galerie Di Meo in Paris in 1986. The poster represents the artwork Branchages realized by Fautrier in 1943. Jean Fautrier (Paris, 1898 – Châtenay-Malabry, 1964) was a very important French painter, illustrator and printmaker. He was one of the most important exponents of Tachisme and founded the Informalism with Jean Dubuffet. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
