An important piece from the famous New England Arts & Crafts pottery studio Saturday Evening Girls (S.E.G.) for Paul Revere Pottery
The Paul Revere pottery, one of the major art potteries of the Boston area in the early 1900's, was founded initially as an association known as the "Saturday Evening Girls", whose purpose was to educate and train young Irish and Italian immigrant girls from Boston's North End. It operated between the years 1906 and 1942.
After 1923 the markings included a “Paul Revere Pottery” circular stamp, and artists would add their initials. Known artists include Edith Brown, Rose Bacchini, Sara Galner, Fannie Levine, and Lili Shapiro.
The presented here vase is from this period, since it bears the incised stamp, underglaze signature and numbers, most likely indicating a date: 4-26, April 1926 perhaps. Also, there are 3 characters, representing artist's initials for Lili Shapiro
Lili Shapiro (1894-1978) was an accomplished artist and influential member of S.E.G., the social club for young immigrant ladies, established in 1899. Among other achievements, she oversaw the operations of Paul Revere Pottery for the last 5 years of its existence (1937-1942). At the period an estimated 200 young women were employed in the business. Many of her works are part of major museums and renown private collections

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
