A stunning vintage Sommerso Murano glass vase, designed by Flavio Poli and crafted by Alessandro Mandruzzato, showcases a captivating combination of blue, yellow, and clear hues.
This Italian masterpiece from the 1960s features faceted Venetian Murano Sommerso glass, creating a striking visual impact.
The exceptional craftsmanship of this vase is evident in its heavily made clear glass structure, adorned with a vibrant blue and yellow halo. The play of light on the glass is mesmerizing, making it an exceptionally stylish piece that catches the eye from every angle.
Crafted using the Sommerso technique, the vase incorporates layers of glass in blue, golden yellow, and transparent clear, resulting in a unique and geometric external surface. The blowing process involves submerging different blends of colored glass in the crystal, producing a dynamic and visually appealing composition.
The Murano Sommerso technique is showcased in the azure blue and yellow glass encased within clear glass, creating a seamless and minimalist design. The multi-faceted sides with a square finish on the top rim and base exemplify Italian Modern style, adding a touch of sophistication to the vase.

The Mandruzzato family has led the way in contemporary Murano home decor fashions with unique handmade pieces and elegant, distinctive lines always custom made for personalization. From the geometric, flat sides and carved, Minimalist and sinuous details of the brand’s early years, Mandruzzato’s home decor pieces have gradually evolved to become icons of simplicity and exclusive luxury home decor.
Mandruzzato was founded in 1934 on the island of Murano, Venice, Italy, by Benjamin Mandruzzato. After Benjamin died in 1954, the factory was run by his son Luigi Mandruzzato. In 1965 Luigi was joined by his son, Gianfranco Mandruzzato, who took over the running of the company two years later. At first the company made glass lighting fixtures, and then began producing ornaments, vases, ashtrays, and other art glass. Mandruzzato is probably best known for their geometric shaped vases and bowls, inspired by earlier work by Luigi and Gianfranco in collaboration with Pablo Picasso. The firm is now run by Gianfranco's son Alessandro Mandruzzato and became fully trade marked in 2011.
