The 12-scalloped edge draws us into an intensely complex, colorful world of butterflies and flowers, fan shapes, turquoise and gold checkerboard squares, and in the center, a mythical beast rolling a ball! The cloisons are tiny and seemingly infinite in number. The back is elegantly decorated and the plate stands on a foot about ¼ inch tall; the entire plate stands about ¾ inch high. The plate appears to my eye to be in mint original condition (there’s one very small aberration slightly to the right of center, to the left of the blue part of the highest ribbon, but in my opinion this occurred during the firing).

Measurements: 7 ¼ diameter, ¾ inch high. See less
