It depicts a young child boy sitting on a cliff with one hand in his lap, and the other swung back. He's in a serene calm state, wearing, we believe, a hat. Though it could be just the hair. The attention to detail is excellent and captures the gentleness of the child especially in the face. The dark heavy wood adds to the ambiguity of the piece.
