This Amari bowl is about 200 years old. This blue and white design is typical of the period. The art in the middle depicts the traditional symbols of good fortune: pine, bamboo and plum blossoms. Unlike other blue and white designs, this bowl contains a range of blue values and contrasts, which bring out individual and distinct elements.
The continuous vine design outside the bowl is described as "old style."
Includes a certificate from Fuji-Torrii Co, Ltd in Tokyo, which has dealt in Japanese antiques since. 1948.
