I acquired this chair as well as another set of chairs and a table from a retired marine of 30 years. The story he told me was that every year an officers club takes a trip to Okinawa. They get a few shipping containers and look around for antiques and furniture. They then head to china and fill more containers and ship them home. They then sell these pieces to pay for future trips to Asia. This chair is super comfortable and super rare. There does appear to be old repairs done on the handle but it’s hard to tell if an old mistake or an old repair. The gentleman gave me a deal on 3 chairs and a table, therefore I believe we priced this super fair. See less
