The exhibition poster print is published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. printed in The United States in 1990 in an unnumbered limited on the occasion of the 1991 " The Fauve Landscape " exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by Manguin in 1906 titled " The Pine Forest at Cavaliere ", private collection France, copyright 1990 The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Henri Charles Manguin ( 1874 - 1949 ) was a French born painter associated with The Fauvist Movement. He studied at The Ecole Des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Gustave Moreau, as did Henri Matisse with whom he became close friends with. Greatly influenced by Impressionism, as seen in his use of bright pastel hues. Many of his paintings were Mediterranean landscapes ; and would represent the height of his career as a Fauve artist.

Along with Andre Derain, Georges Braque and Henri Matisse, Manguin is considered one of the principal figures in The Fauvism Art Movement. They all exhibited their highly innovative paintings at the controversial Salon D'Automne in 1905. The vivid, unnatural colors led the art critic Louis Vauxcelles to name their works as " Les Fauves ", or " The Wilds Beasts ", marking the start of The Fauvist Movement. Artworks by Manguin are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The rare out of print framed museum exhibition poster print measures 32 3/8" W X 30 1/2" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern bronzed copper rose gold tone matte satin finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
