About the Artist:
Jack Merriott was a celebrated British painter, illustrator, and poster designer educated at Croydon School of Art and St. Martin’s School of Art. He exhibited widely at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, and the Royal Society of British Artists. A member and vice-president of the Wapping Group of Artists, Merriott lived in Polperro, Cornwall, whose coastal beauty inspired many of his works.
