Retaining the “made in USSR” label on the underside of the round box. Because these pieces were made in what was then the Soviet Union, the exact origin is unknown, though they were most-likely mined in the Ural Mountains of Russia in the early to mid-20th century.

Sold as a pair, the measurements are as follows:
Square box is approximately 3”H x 3” W x 3” D
The wall thickness at the thickest section of the interior compartment is 1” from the opening to each corner. This is a very thick, heavy piece of pink Rhodonite, weighing 2 lbs 13 oz.

Round box is 3.75” in diameter and 1.5” H. weighing 13.5 oz. See less
