Crafted in Spain circa 1880 and built of chestnut wood, the bench stands on carved legs ending with round feet. Both ox yoke supports are joined with a double forged iron cross stretcher over a rectangular and deep seat decorated with large iron hinges. The folding back with hinges is accented with heavy foliate carvings including a monogram crest in the middle. The Renaissance revival bench is in excellent condition commensurate with age an use, with lots of character, and adorns a wonderful bleached patinated finish.
