The artist has … Read more Very unique piece of mixed media textile art combining felted wool and stitched thread of many colors. The artist has chosen random rounded shapes of color and felted them all onto a navy blue felt ground, then applied swirling machine stitching in many colors of thread over the entire piece. Main colors are orange, ivory, green, olive and tan.

The finished work has been stretched over a canvas stretcher for a painting, and then framed gallery style. Frame has some gaps at corners, not detracting to the overall quality of the work. Includes hanging wire on back oriented as in the first picture. However this piece could also be displayed in landscape orientation if you chose by a simple re-positioning of wire.

Some signs of faint surface darkening in small spots, consistent with the age of the piece, and not detracting. Signed illegibly on back and dated 7/72 for July 1972. See less
