Indian Spice box, a traditional celled container for holding Kumkuma - different colored powders used for social and religious festivals; such as turmeric and vermillion. This antique storage box has six heart shaped containers with hinged lids and finials. The main finial is a sacred Indian bird. The finial unscrews releasing the lids.
The base has 6 feet on which the metal caddy rests upon.
Raj Indian style, 20th century. Today this can be used for storing small items or as a decorative piece that is bound to attract attention wherever it is placed.
