About The Poster: Created in 1933, the French National Lottery became widely popular after the media coverage of barber Paul Bonhoure's win of five million francs in the first draw. In a very enlightening article "Loterie Nationale: Mythes et symboles" written in 1969, the influential French journalist and author of many books on consumerism, education, and advertising propose an in-depth analysis of posters commissioned by the French lottery.
This poster from 1949 has recently been linen-backed and is in very good condition (with some obvious tears that are visible in the photos but which will be less apparent when the poster is framed). Rare and ready to frame.
