Based on my research I believe it to be from France. There is a lovely embossed pattern at the base and top of the grater as well. I did some cleaning of the piece to bring back the luster. It would look great displayed in a kitchen! See less

- I have cleaned this piece to bring back some of the original luster. Also the piece has a steel frame … moreI have cleaned this piece to bring back some of the original luster. Also the piece has a steel frame and that is not soldered firmly in all places. I have taken a photograph of the back to see the frame. It will hold together for display and decoration. I can't guarantee if it is used for kitchen tasks grating that it would not need to be re-soldered. It is an antique so please refer to all photos for condition details and understand that all items have a little more love from wear and use. Thank you! less
