Paul Revere (1734 - 1818) was an American silversmith, engraver, folk hero, early industrialist, Sons of Liberty member and Patriot. He left his mark on history with his famous "Midnight Ride" to alert the colonial militia in 1775 to the approach of British forces before the battles of Lexington & Concord. These fabulous bookends show him on his horse on that Midnight Ride. This pair dates from the 1970s (1974) and are made from cast metal. They would grace any book collection wonderfully whilst also making a most thoughtful gift for history buffs, equestrian fans and book lovers.
This pair are marked underneath "1974 S C C".
Also of interest is the fact that these bookends were sourced at the Sony Prop House in Los Angeles. Underneath, "Sony" has been marked in felt tip with some kind of reference number. So if you think you may have seen this pair in a film or T.V. show, then you probably have! I have no C.O.A. other then the Sony markings which I assume were added so as not to lose them on a studio set somewhere.
They each measure: 2 7/8" (W) x 5 1/4" (D) x 7 1/4" (H) They EACH weigh 1lb 7oz
Materials: Cast Metal
