The piece is carved from solid blocks of sturdy Sabino pine. The cracks in the wood are natural and do not affect the sturdiness.
Like most Mexicans, I am descended from both indigenous people of our beautiful country -- in my case probably Aztecs or Tlaxcalans -- and Spanish colonists. I envision some of the most beautiful expressions of Mexican aesthetics as combinations of the amazing beauty of traditional Native American and Spanish craftsmanship. See less
