I'm pleased to offer for sale this gorgeous pair of two (2) fine porcelain blue famille bleu ginger jars with the following fine features:
- Main color is *blue with pink, purple, yellow, light blue, white and green iris and cabbage patch rose flowers
- Hand-painted in rich overglaze enamels with some texture (relief)
- Measures 11.5" tall x 8.5" wide with a circumference of 28"
- Each weighs 5 pounds, 10 ounces
- Tags on bottom read: "Porcelain from China, Decorated in Macau" along with Chinese characters on jar bottoms and inside lids
- In outstanding condition, with no observable imperfections
*The color blue gained special significance in the history of Chinese ceramics during the Tang dynasty (618-907). The distinctive color in blue-glazed pottery and porcelain comes from cobalt ores imported from Persia, which were a scarce ingredient at the time and used in only limited quantities
