A striking Italian armchair, circa 1950s, upholstered in a deep sky-teal or forest-green leatherette. The chair is defined by a high, gently reclining backrest, a broad rounded seat, and dramatically asymmetrical arm supports: one arm extends as a low upholstered rail, while the other rises into a sculptural flared form.
The upholstery is secured with a line of visible dark upholstery nails along the outer side panels, emphasizing the chair’s tailored construction. Four slender black-painted steel legs lift the seat from the floor, each terminating in a small brass cap or ball foot. The combination of saturated green upholstery, black metal, and brass creates a graphic and sophisticated Italian mid-century palette.
At approximately 23.6 inches square with a 17-inch seat height, the chair is compact enough for a bedroom, desk, dressing area, library, or smaller seating group while still offering a strong sculptural presence.
