These charming figures of local French Provençal life were made first back in 1968 by a man and his wife. He would model the clay figures and she would sew the traditional clothing. The pieces became popular collectables with tourists of the region and the art form in continued by their son today.
Now, on their website, they only make small figures (5-7cm) without the details of these 30cm pieces.
This one of a woman off to market to sell her fish displayed in her basket and carrying her scale for weighing her fish.
