Exceptional meissen porcelain group: on rock pedestal fixed with large rocailles in the foreground sitting musician with tricorn, frock coat … Read more Exceptional meissen porcelain group: on rock pedestal fixed with large rocailles in the foreground sitting musician with tricorn, frock coat over wide shirt, white pants and high boots beating two timpani, behind him the lovers: the proud officer with long hair wig, frock coat, vest white pants, high boots, rapier at his hip and marshal's baton in his hand, placing his left foot on a cannon barrel, received by his sweetheart in long wide skirt with bodice and cape around the shoulders, looking up to him and seeking to embrace her hero, in front of her on the ground a helmet with mounted dragon figure\. Very elaborate design of the details and staffage. Designed by friedrich elias meyer (1723 - 1785) called 'the elder', was a german sculptor and porcelain modeler in the rococo period. He created numerous models for the meissen porcelain manufactory and worked closely with dealers there, but made a name for himself above all as a master model in the royal porcelain manufactory in berlin. Design of model 4184 circa 1751.
