Turn of last century painting in glass fronted Mahogany shadowbox. Although the painting is attractive, the frame is outstanding. These are one of a kind and this is real applied gold leaf.
Shadiw boxes from New York estate. Purchased directly by seller in the 1980s. Glass covered wood shadow boxes were used to protect paintings from smoke....pipe, cigar, fireplace and coal heating.
Offered here is the top one, Bottom 2 offered separately on this site which are
12.5"w x 4"d x10" h each and large bottom one also offered separately.
Primary value is in gold frames although pictures are beautiful, for a total of 4 offered on this site. 7th and 9th photo of smaller picture.
