I learned to do this process in art school The thin sheaths of real silver are removed from a square 3" x 4" piece of paper then carefully attached to the surface of your pieces. It is an arduous process. It is an exact replica of a Venetian 18th Century smaller pendant-like chandelier. I had to replace most of the crystal glass pendants that decorate each cup that holds the candle sleeve. I was astounded to find that its created from a man made composite material popularized in the 1950s. See less
