Chinese Ink and Color on Silk Landscape with Temple, Signed with Artist’s Seal, Republic Period (1912–1949)
A refined shan-shui composition depicting a temple pavilion emerging through drifting mist at the base of towering peaks. Executed in ink and delicate color washes on silk, the work captures the literati ideal of harmony between man and nature.
The restrained palette and ethereal brushwork emphasize atmosphere over realism, evoking a poetic meditation on mountain solitude. Signed with the character 涵 (Han) and bearing a square red seal at the lower left, the painting reflects the continuity of classical traditions into the modern era. Presented in a later frame and mat, it remains an evocative example of Chinese scholar painting aesthetics.
