Born in France in the mid-19th century, hand-crafted of warm rich solid walnut and walnut veneer, having a rectangular hinged lid top with sculpted scalloped molded edge ornamentation, opening to interior flat mirror plate with undulating wood frame, lift-out removable tray with divided interior, over single compartment, affixed with patinated brass escutcheon, above sliding deep bin storage compartment, rising on architectural inspired trestle base, with baluster-form tapering turned and reeded column supports, joined by turned and reeded cross stretcher, terminating in ox joke feet. circa 1830s

Great original antique condition with nicely aged warm rustic patina. Wear consistent with age and indicative of use, including scattered nicks and veneer losses mainly to right side of case and feet. Age spots and losses to silvering on mirror plate.
