"Monster in the Moon" Original by Benedict Scheuer
Monster in the Moon depicts the anatomy of the Creature using a more empathetic lens than that of Victor or the other humans he encounters. While his anatomy is vaguely human, his bones are yellow and drawn to look soft and pliant. A moon in place of his heart emphasizes the Creature’s connection to the natural world, and the worms and birds in his body highlight his composition from animal remains as well as human. Benedict asks us to question whether the Creature, despite being man-made, is as, if not more, organic and natural than we are. Depicted on silk, the artwork is light and breathable.
