Each is numbered and signed in the … Read more VERY RARE SET of 6 antique botanical chromolithographs that date to c 1880s. Each is numbered and signed in the plate by artist Mme Emilie.Vouga (1840-1909). There is a stamped mark on each chromo in lower right noting Braun cie Geneve, the esteemed publishing house. Each image is a delicately detailed floral vignette with strong color and clarity and set against a brown-gray background. These are typical of late 19th century genre of informal naturalistic florals.. Vouga's works are most difficult to find in collections making this set of 6 rare and unique as a grouping. Her works have realized increasingly higher prices at international auction houses. Each botanical is in pristine antique condition with no age markings. Each is 7 x 9.25 inches in size.
