The vase is decorated with finely drawn and detailed, polychrome flocks of flying, Chinese geese and foraging, Chinese geese amid a rock garden with a large willow tree, bamboo, peony and chrysanthemum bushes and other flowering plants. A small, gold, crescent moon and gibbous moon are glazed just below the neck. A red, four character, Ju Ren Tang Zhi, Hongxian mark in Zhuanshu script is glazed to the inset base, The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa early 20th century.

Ju Ren Tang Zhi: Hall Where Benevolence Resides, a palace in the Zhongnanhai near the Forbiddden City, Beijing, used by president Yuan Shikai, who ruled as the Hongxian Emperor for 83 days in 1915-16 (Republic of China).
