Offered is an unusual and rare handcarved Teak wood treenware chalice that research suggests is a dice-shaking vessel (i. e. for backgammon, Mah-Jong, etc.), yet also resembles antique shaving jars. With a pestle it could also be used as a small mortar for mashing herbs.
There is an illegible maker's mark or sequence of numbers on the bottom (see photos).
It measures 3.5" in diameter at the bottom and the top, and stands 6" in height.
