We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects.
Murano glass emptying pot (or bowl) with a pleasant rounded shape; the design is essential but well-proportioned, functional, and elegant; the interior is white opaline glass and the exterior is glass with a delicate cream color. This object was made by Maestri Muranesi using the technique of "incamiciatura," which consists of superimposing, as an initial process, one or more successive layers of glass of different colors on the glass mass that came out of the furnace; in our object, only one color was superimposed on the white opaline glass mass by immersing the newly sketched white form in a crucible containing the cream-colored molten glass; then the Master glassmaker put the whole thing back in the furnace for a few minutes and then blowing into the special barrel, helping himself with pliers and working it by hand, he gave the emptying bowl the desired shape; this operation is very difficult because the two colors must be evenly blended; the object was made entirely by hand and without the use of molds or models, thus creating a unique piece, just like a work of art. The earliest records of this technique concern Benedetto Barbaria, who in 1815 made "blown glass with two layers of enamel." The bowl emptier was created by master glassmakers between 1971 and 1975 in the furnace of Ditta V.Nason in Murano. Founded in the 1930s by Vincenzo Nason, heir to one of Murano's oldest families, the glassworks established itself in the island's artistic heyday with a brand that became known throughout Italy and even abroad. The company, covering an area of six thousand square meters, had about 20 furnaces and could produce as many as 15 different colors daily. It was one of the last furnaces to continue not only the production of art glass but also the production of industrial glass, including, for example, lighting components, bathroom accessories, and dental offices. It has always been run by family members. At its peak, until 2000 the company had about 80 employees and was one of the largest on the island of Murano. Creativity and attention, respect for tradition, and experimentation with every possible innovation led V.Nason's company to achieve international fame with creations of absolute excellence. In 2004 Nason & C. closed its doors and was declared bankrupt. The emptying pot is in excellent condition. Measures diameter cm.15, height cm.9. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
