Dimensions: 19 ⅝” H x 9 ⅞” D
A rare Italian blown glass "damigiana" also called a demijohn, hand-crafted in Italy circa 1800. The handmade vessel is a gorgeous shade of aqua blue glass shaped to a teardrop that exhibits trapped air bubbles within the glass and with finished by a sheared lip. Its simply elegant pear form and unique coloring make this antique keg (used for transporting wine in 19th century Italy) a highly collectible item for the modern home. In very good antique condition, the artistic work would make a great addition to any space or art glass collection adding the elements of texture and dimension.
