An energetic and vibrant mixed media etching with string, HMP, relief collage on heavy handmade paper. Created in 1982. Original gallery tag from Alice Simsar Gallery, Ann Arbor, MI on verso. An abstract expressionist etching that has added layers of details such as handmade paper, sewn elements, and added collage. Weege studied city planning and so there is an urban quality found in his body of work. During his career, Weege exhibited widely, and his work is included in many museum collections throughout the United States including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Detroit Institute of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. From a private collection. Dimensions: 27.75”h x 35.75”w x 1.5”d (framed). In very good vintage condition.
