Ethereal and magnificent antique Japanese folding room divider/shoji/floor screen.
The piece is particularly spectacular with the light shining through it and illuminating the natural scene within!
These are actual plants, reeds, Japanese maples leaves and butterflies, pressed and embedded in handmade natural mulberry paper that has been mixed with something to make it rigid and extremely durable!
Enclosed in sturdy elmwood frames that are lacquered black.
This is a rare and unique artisan piece, certainly not mass-produced, and of uncommon craftsmanship and beauty.
