The body of the vase is decorated with a polychrome, finely drawn and shaded, leafy, branching, peony bush of flowers and buds amid garden rocks , shrubs and other flowering plants. A short, signed poem in caoshu script with three red seal marks is glazed to the back of the vase. A red, four character, Yongzheng reign mark within double squares is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
