Large tureens make wonderful centerpieces alone or with lid removed brimming with flowers. This one is of white ironstone and reproduced from an original by Davenport. Burleigh Staffordshire created these tureens in the mid to late 20th century from a pattern of strawberries and grapes by Davenport in the 1800’s.
The tureen has a ladle and the lid is topped by a floral knob.
The height is 8.5” with the lid and 5” without.the ladle is 10” long.

There is a hairline crack on the tureen that probably came from firing as it is under the glaze. There is another hairline crack on the inside of the lid which is not really visible on the outside. There is also some discoloration under the glaze in a couple of small spots. Please check all pictures. less
